2022 Tameside Overall Results
2022 has been the closest Tameside Open Championship that we have ever dealt with.
The top two bands tied in rankings with 4 firsts and 2 seconds respectively in their highest 6 placings. This resulted in the following tie break rule being used for the first time since the Tameside Overall contest began.

In the event of a tie, the band with the highest combined points score from their 6 best rankings would win.
Using this tie breaking rule, (the first time it has been needed since the Tameside Open started). Defending “Tameside Open” Champions; Foden’s Band narrowly beat Rothwell Temperance Band 1183pts to 1179pts.
The 1 prize rule has also come into play, with Stalybridge Old Band placing 1st in the 4th section, but receiving the Local 3rd due to its higher monetary value…

1 Prize Rule
Bands can only win a single prize.
In the event a band places first in 2 separate categories (for example section and local) they will receive the highest value monetary prize. The lower value prize will go to the next highest scoring band in the relevant category.
In the local scene The Mossley Band narrowly beat Ashton Under Lyne Band to scoop the 1st Local Prize.
